MVV Energie dividend stable at Euro 0.90
MVV Energie, an energy company listed in the SDAX, is paying a dividend of 90 cents per share for the past 2008/09 financial year (1.10.2008 - 30.9.2009).
The dividend has thus been maintained at the same level as in the previous year. As announced by the company in Mannheim on Friday, shareholders at today's Annual General Meeting of the company, which has been publicly listed since 1999, thus approved the recommendation made by the Executive and Supervisory Boards. Based on an unchanged total of 65.9 million shares, the dividend will, as in the previous year, result in a distribution total of Euro 59.3 million. The dividend will be paid this coming Monday, 15 March 2010.
In the past financial year, MVV Energie boosted its sales from Euro 2.6 billion to around Euro 3.2 billion. Adjusted operating earnings (adjusted EBIT) decreased slightly to Euro 239 million.
The Annual General Meeting elected Carsten Südmersen, businessman and Chairman of the CDU group on Mannheim City Council, and Heinz-Werner Ufer, former CEO of the Dortmund-based company RWE Energy AG, on the Supervisory Board. These individuals will thus succeed the retiring members, Prof. Dr. Norbert Loos and Dr. Rudolf Friedrich. Furthermore, Dr. Dieter Steinkamp, CEO of the Cologne-based company RheinEnergie AG, was confirmed as a member of the Supervisory Board of MVV Energie AG, having already been appointed by court resolution to this position in July 2009. The term in office of the entire Supervisory Board will expire upon the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting in 2011.
The Annual General Meeting was attended by around 1 300 share-holders and guests, representing 86.4 percent of the company's share capital.
