Dr. Hansjörg Roll to be new Chief Technical Officer on MVV Energie's Management Board
Technical director at MVV Umwelt GmbH appointed to group management from beginning of new year - Dr. Werner Dub to retire after 15 years on Management Board of Mannheim energy company
Dr. Hansjörg Roll, currently Technical Director at MVV Umwelt GmbH, will become the new Chief Technical Officer at MVV Energie AG as of 1 January 2015. This was announced by the Mannheim-based energy group following today's meeting of its Supervisory Board.
Born in Offenburg in 1965, the chemical engineer obtained a doctorate in engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and has held senior positions at MVV Energie since 2003. He first acted as Managing Director at the industrial power plant in Ludwigshafen and at the biomass CHP plant in Gengenbach in southern Baden before being appointed as Technical Director at MVV Umwelt GmbH in 2008. Here, he has been instrumental in developing and implementing the Group's growth strategy in the field of sustainable energy generation from waste and biomass. He is responsible in particular for the construction of two new power plants in Plymouth and Ridham Dock in the UK, where operations are due to be launched at the beginning of 2015. Dr. Hansjörg Roll is married and has a daughter.
"With Hansjörg Roll, we have appointed an experienced, determined specialist from within the company to the top group management. He knows the company inside out and has already identified and achieved key growth targets", stressed MVV Energie's Supervisory Board Chairman, Mannheim's Lord High Mayor Dr. Peter Kurz. "Particularly in the crucial technical division, he thus represents an ideal combination of competence, innovation and continuity that should help boost MVV Energie"s further development."
"For me, this appointment is a confirmation of what I have achieved for our Group and is also a sign of appreciation for our strong and successful working relationship with all of our employees", commented Dr. Roll in an initial statement. "This position also involves great responsibility for our Group, one of Germany's leading energy companies with its municipal and regional roots and its strategy consistent with the conversion in the energy supply along ecological lines."
Dr. Hansjörg Roll will thus succeed Dr. Werner Dub, who is retiring at the end of the year following 15 years on the Management Board of MVV Energie AG.
