Dr. Georg Müller to head MVV for a further five years
The Supervisory Board of the Mannheim energy company MVV has extended the appointment of the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Georg Müller (55), for another five years through to the end of 2023.
This was announced by the Supervisory Board Chairman, Mannheim’s Lord High Mayor Dr. Peter Kurz, after a Supervisory Board meeting held on Thursday and thus one day before the company’s Annual General Meeting in Mannheim tomorrow.
The Supervisory Board Chairman stated that Dr. Müller, who has headed MVV since 2009, had in recent years continually aligned the company’s strategy to the energy system of the future. This way, he had consistently positioned MVV as a pioneer of the energy turnaround in Mannheim and the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region, as well as in national and several international markets. “As CEO, Dr. Müller has played a decisive role in making MVV one of Germany’s leading energy companies and ensuring that it remains so in future”, stressed Dr. Kurz. Like very few of its peers, MVV showed how a company could successfully unite its strategy, brand and culture and thus combine sustainably implementing the energy turnaround with entrepreneurial responsibility and robust growth.
“The Supervisory Board has confirmed its absolute trust in Dr. Müller to maintain the course taken by our company, with its municipal and regional roots, and that in the interests of the company, its employees, shareholders, customers and municipal partners and together with the company’s Executive Board team and its managers and employees”, remarked Dr. Kurz. He added that Dr. Müller combined broad experience and in-depth knowledge of the German and European energy industry with farsightedness, strong leadership and courage.
